Get Involved!

The smooth operation of a condominium complex such as ours, and feeling secure and comfortable here, requires a lot more than hiring an efficient and responsive building manager. Just as is necessary when you own your own home, it depends on the owners and residents for care and upkeep. Getting involved will make your experience here that much richer, as you get to know your neighbours and participate in the community.

Help to identify things that need fixing, provide ideas to make our condo better, organize community events and care for our property. There are many ways to get involved.

When you volunteer your time to participate in such activities, we guarantee that whatever you contribute will be very much appreciated and will make a difference in your own enjoyment and comfort here.

The following list provides ways to get involved. If something catches your eye, contact us and we will connect you to the organizers.

Board of Directors

The Board is elected annually in January. Getting on the Board is the best way to have our condominium corporation get things done the way you want.

Volunteer group

We have a dedicated group of individuals who walk our buildings regularly to identify problems, issues, etc. in our day-to-day operations. Their contributions to the smooth operation of the complex can’t be overestimated.

Bottle returns

We fund some of our social events and kitchen supplies by collecting returnable bottles, cans, juice cartons, etc. left in the garbage rooms.  Volunteers are needed to pick up the bottles from the garbage rooms, temporarily store them in the parkades, and take them twice monthly (or more often if you are willing) to the bottle return depot.

Social Committee

The Social Committee organizes up to six social events per year in the Amenities Building and our outside property. Most of all, these are volunteers who create a sense of community at Crossbow Landing.  From time to time they also organize more informal events such as evening excursions to Banff for dinners, etc.

Like the way our grounds look? So do we. It's thanks to the Landscaping Committee. The Board delegates the administration of the landscaping contract to this group, as well as the purchase and deployment of flower baskets and garden wildflower plantings each spring.

Landscaping Committee

A few of us with a passion for wildflowers have identified almost 90 different wildflower species growing within a stone’s throw of the four Crossbow Place residential buildings. We frequently walk about to see what’s blooming, and, in cooperation with the Landscaping Committee, we get involved in things like selecting and purchasing native plants for our garden areas.

Wildflowers at Crossbow

Our library in the Amenities Building is carefully managed by our library volunteers. Check it out, it contains hundreds of books and board games. See how beautifully it’s arranged and catalogued. Best of all, it’s FREE for you to use, and there is no obligation to return the books. It takes time and effort. If you can spare the time, please volunteer.

Library Management

This website is our community newspaper. It’s only good if it’s up to date. ALL contributions to the website, whether a community notice or new page ideas are welcome. We'd especially appreciate photos from your hikes and details about any community organization you belong to.
